Love! https://www.fotografia-stellare.com/blog/2016/6/work-work-love Last week kicked off the busiest two months of the busiest year for weddings ever!  We live in such a beautiful part of the country, with such varied wedding venues and it's so much fun capturing all the special moments. Thank you to all my loyal clients, and welcome to the family to all the new ones.

Almost forgot - it took about two months to get everything set up, but the studio was officially used for the first time this week, with wonderful results.

I have had the privilege of recording some spectacular weddings, engagement sessions and family portrait sessions.  I've migrated all my work to new hardware, including new, faster drives and a much more robust backup process - you can never be too safe with your clients' memories.

Apple decided to stop supporting their professional photo editing application, Aperture, and that led me to a shift over to Lightroom and Photoshop.  Of course, I had to learn (and still am learning) all the little nuances of software.  I've also invested in some new photography gear, including more powerful flash units and modifiers as well as upgraded remote flash controllers to allow for more creative lighting.

Early next year I will be setting up a photo studio which will allow me to better serve my current clients as well as provide services to new clients who are looking specifically for studio photography.  I am very excited about 2016 (and yes, the wedding bookings are coming in fast and furious) and look forward to meeting some wonderful new folks.

ISDw 654ISDw 654 I love engagement sessions.  It is the perfect time to create a bond with a couple and learn about each other prior to the wedding date.  It offers an opportunity to experiment a little without the pressure of the big day and is always a fun-filled occasion.

ISDe 25ISDe 25 I also had the privilege of capturing my first Laotian wedding - a beautifully colorful experience.  I love learning about different cultures and being part of their customs and rituals is an amazing way to learn more.

Pleasant Church in Tanglewood Park.  Known as the "little church on the hill", it has been used for wedding ceremonies since 1809.

This is a gorgeous setting and I hope to do many more sessions at this location.

It is always a pleasant surprise to hear from clients after they have received their prints and find out what they have done with them.

At the end of last year, I spent a morning with a three-generation family in a nearby park.  Recently I received this photo showing me how they were proudly displaying some of their new portraits.  What a beautiful setup!

This kind of feedback is always much appreciated and adds to the joy I get out of photography.
